Parking: Available for free at the parking area of the UR Press building
The Witmer House Walk is open to a range of groups for educational and community use. If you're planning a visit with more than 5 people during working hours, please contact us to schedule your visit.
- School 12 nature-based learning classes
- University of Rochester faculty-led classes
- U of R student clubs and organizations
- U of R staff groups (e.g. Sustainability Team)
- Individual U of R students
- External groups such as Ganondagan visitors, RIT classes, or local environmental organizations
To ensure a safe, welcoming, and respectful experience for everyone:
- Keep dogs leashed at all times
- Respect private residences — this is a shared space
- No drone use — drones are not permitted on or around the trail
- No picnicking in the Witmer House area
- This is a smoke-free zone — thank you for keeping the air clean
- Mostly flat gravel and paved paths
- Wheelchair accessible entry points
- Benches and rest areas throughout the trail
- Public restrooms available nearby
